The course features six holes, comprising one par 5, three par 4s, and two par 3s. The choice of six holes is no coincidence; players wishing to complete a regulation 18-hole round simply need to play the course three consecutive times, resulting in a par-69 round.
It’s the ideal course to:
- Play a few holes in the morning, then relax at El Lago Club with family or friends.
- Escape in the late afternoon for a quick round at sunset.
- Repeat the loop and easily complete 12 or even 18 holes without interruption.

The golf course has been designed to accommodate players of all abilities and features a variety of tee platforms that make the course accessible for every level of golfer. Each tee platform is colour-coded to indicate the relative difficulty of the holes (yellow, blue, and red), with the following handicap recommendations:
Yellow tees: recommended for players with a handicap between 0 and 18.
Blue tees: recommended for players with a handicap between 18 and 30.
Red tees: recommended for players with a handicap above 30.
Players are encouraged to vary the tee platforms used from one round to the next, as this allows them to experience the unique design characteristics of each hole from different distances and angles of play.
Another distinctive feature of the course is its elevated greens. This design enables two hole locations on each green (identified by white and red flags), creating greater variety and alternative playing experiences between rounds.
Ultimately, the course has been designed with maximum flexibility in mind, allowing players to choose the distances from which they wish to play and the flag positions they aim to reach.

Hole 1
This is a medium-length par-3 hole, with a ravine running across it and an elevated green with a steep slope at the front.
For high-handicap players, the real challenge will be to clear the front ravine to reach the fairway, and to do so they must choose their tee position carefully. We recommend that experienced players select a club one size larger for their tee shot, as if they come up slightly short, the front slope will cause the ball to roll away from the green.
In terms of the landscape, the green is set in an amphitheatre surrounded by native vegetation and a number of cork oaks, which lend great beauty to the setting.
Hole 2
This hole has been designed to combine the strategic appeal of the game with careful integration into the landscape alongside the lake and the Beach Club. As an element tying the whole course together, a waste area has been introduced that runs the entire length of the right-hand side of the hole. As well as separating the lake from the fairway to create an attractive playing area resembling a beach, this feature, with its varying levels and heights, aims to create the effect of a wave breaking into the large lake from the golf course.
The playing strategy is clearly to keep to the left-hand side of the hole to avoid the waste area, as once inside it, the magnetic pull is akin to that of a wave, and from within it, the height of the slopes will make it difficult to return to the fairway.
The green features a front slope running across it and a right-hand run-off towards which all the green’s slopes lead; this makes back pin positions difficult and means it is advisable to continue aiming left on the second shot. The two impressive gall oak trees on the left add a sense of verticality and beauty to this hole.
Hole 3
This is the most strategic hole on the entire course, as, being a par 4, it is feasible for players with a medium-to-low handicap to reach the green in a single stroke. It is a classic risk-reward hole: a direct shot towards the green faces the hazard of a lake that occupies almost the entire front of the green, leaving only a narrow 10-metre strip on the right-hand side through which the ball can roll onto the green. If you prefer to play the hole conservatively, it offers an attractive option: selecting a long iron for the first shot facilitates a straightforward second shot over the lake towards the green.
For less experienced players, we recommend the front tee, as the short distance of the hole will allow them to achieve par, provided they manage to clear the ravine with their first shot and, on the second shot, play to the right of the lake towards that part of the green.
Hole 4
The only hole on the course that is played uphill, and whose main feature is the lake situated in the lower part of the hole. To accommodate players of all abilities, it features four tee platforms; the two at the front are recommended for less experienced players.
A tee known as the ‘Barra Blanca’ or ‘Piñero Balcony Tee’ has been created at the top of the hole, which we recommend using, as, in addition to completely altering the parameters of play (angle, distance and perspective, changing the drive from an uphill to a downhill shot), from here you can enjoy one of the best views of the course, taking in the spectacular nature and scale of the surrounding terrain.
The second shot is a highly technical uphill shot where it is advisable to aim to the right of the green and select a club long enough to reach that area; a shot to the left will send the ball into a deep hollow, taking it away from the green.
Hole 5
This is the easiest and shortest hole on the course; it is a par-3, where the challenge lies in reaching the green in a single stroke.
The hazard lies in the stream running along the left-hand side, very close to the green; we therefore suggest aiming to the right. However, to make the hole more challenging, a runoff has been created in that area, towards which all shots from the right-hand half of the hole will roll, ‘spitting’ the balls into it. Therefore, accuracy on the tee shot is vital to achieving a good result.
Hole 6
The only par-5 on the course, this is a short par-5 where top-level players can reach the green in two strokes. The drive requires players to clear a long natural feature from the three rearmost tees; to avoid the need for less skilled players to ‘jump’ over this feature onto the fairway, a fourth, more forward tee has been created.
The main feature of the driver landing area is a central bunker that suggests two different routes (to the left and right of it), and each player’s natural swing tendency (fade vs draw) will determine which side they should aim for.
The difficulty of the second hole lies in the playing stance, which will always be awkward, and the front bunkers protecting the green.
