El Lago Club at Real de La Quinta Brings the MotoSurf World Championship to Spain for the First Time
• El Lago Club hosts the UIM MotoSurf World Championship 2026, bringing the excitement of sport and leisure to the heart of a unique mountain setting.

Benahavís (Marbella), 10 September 2026. El Lago Club at Real de La Quinta will host the UIM MotoSurf World Championship 2026 for the first time in Spain, the highest international MotoSurf competition, bringing together 70 elite riders from 20 countries in Marbella.
The championship will take place on El Lago Club’s navigable lake, spanning more than 35,000 square metres and 400 metres in length, a unique natural setting that incorporates a beach, jetty, swimming area, and a range of water-based activities. For three days, the Costa del Sol will become the international epicentre of MotoSurf, showcasing Real de La Quinta’s ability to host world-class sporting events.
The arrival of the championship further reinforces Real de La Quinta’s vision as a residential and lifestyle destination where nature, sport, wellness, gastronomy, and social life come together in a single, exceptional environment.
Sport as Part of the Real de La Quinta Experience

A Weekend with the International MotoSurf Elite
The programme will begin on Thursday, 10 September, at 10:00 AM, with the official press conference at the historic Hospital Real de la Misericordia. This will be followed by the MotoSurf Academy, an initiative aimed at invited students from schools in Marbella and Benahavís, who will have the opportunity to discover the sport and meet some of its leading international athletes.
Among the riders participating in the academy will be Lukáš Záhorský, six-time world champion and two-time gold medallist at the 2025 World Games; Antony Squire, the 2025 World Champion from the United States; Sára Žuborová, bronze medallist at the 2025 World Games; and Eunjin Lee, 2023 Asian Champion.
The competition will begin on Friday, 11 September, with free practice sessions and qualifying rounds, continue on Saturday with the semi-finals, and culminate on Sunday, 13 September, with the finals across the men's, women's, and junior categories.
As an extension of the championship, visitors will also have the opportunity to enjoy public MotoSurf sessions at The Point Club, Playa del Pinillo, bringing the excitement and spectacle of this rapidly growing sport directly to Marbella's coastline.
