Real de La Quinta opens El Lago Club to become the resort with the most extensive leisure offering on the Costa del Sol

Real de La Quinta takes a decisive step in its development with the opening of El Lago Club, a space designed to redefine the leisure, sports, and wellness offerings on the Costa del Sol. Its launch represents one of the most significant milestones since the project's inception and marks a turning point in the consolidation of this sustainable residential resort, which has already reached approximately 50% completion.
Spanning nearly two million square meters, Real de La Quinta has been conceived as a lifestyle destination integrated with nature, where housing, sports, wellness, and services coexist in a single environment. The opening of El Lago Club embodies this vision and brings to life one of the project's most emblematic spaces.

The heart of the resort is now beating
Located in the natural surroundings of Marbella-Benahavís, El Lago Club is structured around a navigable lake of more than 35,000 m² and over 400 metres in length, conceived as the resort's main meeting point.
The space includes a beach with a swimming area, a dock, and water activities such as kayaking, paddle boarding and water bikes. The experience is complemented by the gastronomic offerings of Saltao, a project by Azotea Grupo that introduces a contemporary culinary concept to Marbella based on Peruvian-Mediterranean fusion. A creative, product-driven cuisine, designed to integrate with the surroundings and elevate the experience in the unique natural setting of Real de La Quinta. “We want to offer a high-quality, carefully crafted menu made with locally sourced products in an idyllic natural setting in an iconic city in southern Spain,” says José Manuel García, CEO and founder of Azotea Grupo. The menu is the work of Víctor and Paula Gutiérrez, who run Tayta (Salamanca), the only Peruvian restaurant with a Michelin star in Spain.
A unique concept on the Costa del Sol
The opening of El Lago Club represents the consolidation of a residential model that goes beyond traditional real estate development. Real de La Quinta has opted for sustainable, low-density growth, significantly reducing the impact on the natural environment and enhancing the quality of life for its residents.
The project, nestled in the idyllic slopes of the Sierra de las Nieves (a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve), has reached approximately 50% completion with over 400 homes built (223 already delivered, 116 to be delivered between the end of 2026 and the beginning of 2027, and the rest under construction); and a wide range of services that will continue to expand over the coming years. “We have always seen Real de La Quinta as a long-term project.
