Ryder Cup 2025: golf's biggest tournament
The Ryder Cup is an international golf tournament, unique in its format and passion. Every two years, it pits the best players from Europe and the United States against each other in an exciting team competition, where they battle for prestige and honour over three days. In 2025, the Ryder Cup will be held from 26 to 28 September at the Bethpage Black Golf Course in New York, and once again promises to be an event full of excitement, strategy and team spirit.
Manuel Piñero: Ryder Cup star and designer of our course
Spanish golf has left an important mark on the history of the Ryder Cup, and one of its most prominent figures has been Manuel Piñero, golf legend and member of the 1985 European champion team.
Piñero participated in two editions of the Ryder Cup with the European team. In 1981, he defeated American golfer Jerry Pate in their singles match. And in 1985, he was instrumental in helping Europe lift the trophy for the first time, contributing four important points to the victory.
Manuel Piñero is currently a golf course designer and was responsible for designing the El Lago Club golf course, contributing his experience and vision to create an attractive course suitable for all types of players. It is a 6-hole executive golf course with three par fours, two par threes and one par five. The designer points out that the greens are quite large and can accommodate two flags, allowing for two rounds, 12 holes, or a third round to complete the 18.
El Lago Club is the place for those who seek to enjoy sport, nature, and a relaxed lifestyle in an environment that prioritises well-being and quality of life.
