The 'Q' for tourism quality is installed in Marbella

A total of 18 certificates awarded by the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality (ICTE) place Marbella at the head of the municipalities with the highest number of these distinctions. The 'Q' flags of tourist quality fly on the beaches of Marbella, showing the high level of services provided to residents and visitors.

A very demanding audit process

The 'Q' flags of tourist quality result from an exhaustive evaluation process carried out by independent consultants approved by the ICTE. During these audits, aspects such as beach accessibility, water quality, lifeguard services or the availability of information for users are evaluated.

In parallel, the ICTE also grants another type of recognition related to the implementation of the development objectives set by the UN. Also, in this sense, the municipality has 15 'S' flags that endorse Marbella's environmental, economic and social commitment to these objectives.

Recognition of the efforts of an entire municipality

Three new 'Q' flags have been added this year to the distinctions already held by some of Marbella's beaches. Rio Verde, La Vibora and Real de Zaragoza are the three additions to this list of 18 flags that guarantee the quality of the investments made to improve the municipal coastline.

Both the ICTE and the Marbella Town Hall have emphasized the commitment of the municipality to keep the bar so high. It has been a joint work between the neighbours and the delegations involved in providing the best image of the beaches. For its part, the City Council will continue to insist on projects of regeneration and recovery of the width of its coasts, which the relevant environmental reports have already requested.
